Beginners Training Session Sat Feb 27

Beginners/new members are invited to join Limerick Cycling Club this Saturday, Feb 27, for a 1-2 hour training ride. We will be departing from Outside Arthur’s Quay tourist office at 9:10AM Sharp.

  • You will be allowed one training spin with Limerick CC, afterwards you must Join Limerick CC and Cycling Ireland.
  • Racing bikes only, helmets must be worn.
  • Please obey the rules of the road and show respect for other road users
  • Ensure you bike is in correct working order, particularly brakes, chain, gears and tyres.
  • Please have one or two spare tubes, tyre leavers and a pump.

RAS LUIMNI

This years RAS LUIMNI has changed location and will be based in Caherconlish. A1, A2, A3 and A4 categories will be catered for. The race will take place on the 28th of March 2010. More info to follow…

Interested in Joining Limerick CC

If you would like to join and train with Limerick CC now is a good time to start planning. When the racing season starts the Saturday spins reduce in volume and intensity, with the racers keeping the legs fresh for racing on Sunday. The first race of the season is scheduled for Sunday Feb 28th, making Saturday 27th and ideal day for beginners and newcomers. Saturday spins depart at 9am from outside Arthur’s Quay tourist office. New members, from the competitive to the touring cyclist,  would be very welcome and looked after. Helmets are compulsory, people not wearing helmets will be turned away.

You will be allowed one training spin with Limerick CC. After that you will have to join Limerick CC and purchase a license from Cycling Ireland. See join limerick CC or email us at limerickcc@gmail.com for more details.

Saturday’s Route;

Limerick, Birdhill, Killaloe, Ogonnelloe, Scarriff, Feakle (R461) all the way to the main Galway rd, Left & left again take the R462 to Tulla, left on R352 towards Bodyke then right to Broadford on R466 over the climb and home.

The Cycling Ireland website is now up and running. You can now register, apply and pay for your license online. You must be a member of Limerick CC to have your license approved.
